I think your action research project will yeild interesting results. Just this past weekend, my principal requested that the staff attend a specific PD eventhough we were still off contract. Nearly 1/2 of the staff showed up. Good: those who did attend should be more inciteful about brain research and how to stimulate certain portions of the brain for certain task. Im pretty sure the other half of staff did not attend becuase either they could not or they were not willing to be open to change. My mom is veteran teacher and always sarcastically remarks about me attendaing so many PD by choice, not force. WHen I asked why not she responded, "Why should I? I have already heard the same thing before? Or they are not targeted for the type of studnets I have." perhaps others on your staff feel similar. I look forward to your results.
